Domestic Violence Counseling and Advocacy 


The Nest is a safe and healing place for everyone, including underserved populations such as the homeless, LGBTQIA+, immigrants and refugees. We provide: court advocacy, legal consultation, domestic violence survivor assessments, individual counseling, educational support groups, and alternative healing groups.  All of our services are offered in Spanish by a bilingual, bicultural trained Staff.  If you are in need of emergency shelter, please contact Greenhouse 17 at (800) 544-2022 (24-hour crisis line) or The National Domestic Violence Hotline (800) 787-224.   

Court Advocacy:  Survivor advocacy before and after court hearings, explaining survivor’s rights and options for protective orders, assistance accessing community resources, free legal consultation and representation for Emergency Protective Order (EPO), Interpersonal Emergency Protective Order (EIPO) and Domestic Violence Order (DVO) hearings. Attorney and advocates are available in Fayette and surrounding counties.

Counseling Services:  Initial Assessments, Safety Planning, Ongoing Individual Counseling.

Breaking the Silence:  Community outreach and counseling services for LGBTQIA+ survivors of intimate partner violence.

The NEW (Nest Empowers Women) Group:

Mondays from 2:00pm – 3:30pm

Entre Amigas:

Wednesday from 3:15pm – 4:15pm

Madres Amorosas:

Wednesdays from 4:15pm – 5:15pm


Music Therapy Class:  This group is led by a music therapist from the University of Kentucky and focuses on healing, expression and develop coping skills through music.      

 Restorative Yoga:  Designed to help survivors of trauma tap into the body’s healing energy, cultivate a deeper sense of connection within, create a calm and restorative sacred place, build strength and foster a sense of well-being and community.

 A Window Between Worlds:  An art class that offers participants the opportunity to take a window of time, to begin and support their process of self-discovery and healing.


Lunch and Learn:  Offers a “real talk” about finances.  Tips and tricks about savings, setting goals and credit scores are shared in a round-table atmosphere.  Lunch is provided for free by The Nest and our sponsors.

 Parenting Cafe:  A safe place that promotes encouragement, motivation and uplifting support for Mother’s in times of need.
