The Nest Celebrates Grand Opening of New Advocacy Center
The Nonprofit Extends a Public Invitation to Their Open House
Commemorating the Inauguration of the New Space
The Nest (Center for Women, Children, and Families) invites the public to an Open House celebration that marks the establishment of their latest location, The Nest Advocacy Center at 151 E. Maxwell Street. The Nest’s expansion into this new building, made possible by the generous support of Calvary Baptist Church, signifies a remarkable milestone in their ongoing mission to prevent abuse and neglect by offering essential support to families in crisis.
Over the past five years, The Nest has witnessed an increased need within Central Kentucky, prompting the growth of their vital services. This strategic expansion will allow The Nest to maintain their flourishing Child Care and Family Assistance programs at the Duncan Park facility, while relocating their Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) and Parenting programs to The Nest Advocacy Center, uniting their dedicated team of attorneys, court advocates, and counselors under one roof. This new space will allow The Nest to facilitate a more efficient, confidential and holistic method of support for parents, survivors of IPV and individuals seeking legal assistance.
In support of this expansion, the Blue Grass Community Foundation has generously contributed $25,000, complemented by a matching donation from both the James and Martha Monroe Charitable Fund and the Thomson R. Bryant Jr. and Betty R. Bryant Fund, totaling a substantial $50,000 towards the new facility and its operations.
Jeffrey White, Executive Director at The Nest, shared, "The expansion into this new location marks a pivotal moment for The Nest. It grants us the capacity to centralize our initiatives, guaranteeing a more synchronized and impactful response to our community’s needs. We are grateful for the support we have received from the Blue Grass Community Foundation and Calvary Baptist to open these doors for us."
The Nest Advocacy Center Open House will be on Thursday, November 2, 2023, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. It will offer a unique opportunity to explore The Nest Advocacy Center, allowing guests to witness firsthand the transformative impact it promises to bring to our community. Attendees are invited to acquaint themselves with the Advocacy Center's diverse services, which include Court Advocacy, Legal Representation, Safety Planning, Individual Counseling, Parenting Classes and Educational Support Groups. Every service provided by The Nest is offered free of charge and accessible in both English and Spanish.
