Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) is the intentional use of manipulation, physical violence, sexual assault, emotional abuse, and/or any other form of abuse as part of a pattern of behavior to gain control over an intimate partner. IPV affects individuals in every community regardless of age, economic status, sexual orientation, gender, race, religion, or nationality. The devastating physical, emotional, and psychological consequences of IPV can cross generations and last a lifetime.
