Family Assistance Director
Job Details
Hours: Full-Time, Monday – Friday 9:00-5:00 (some nights/weekends as needed)
Reporting to: Jenny Norman, Director of Operations
Salary/rate: $40,000 - $50,000 (depending on education and experience)
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or 2+ years’ experience in Non-Profit work or management.
About the role:
The Director will manage the day-to-day operations of The Family Assistance Program. This team member will focus on strengthening the Family Assistance program by coaching and developing staff, interns and volunteers. The director will cultivate relationships with new community partners and donors to expand program capacity and improve service quality. Some nights and weekends may be required for volunteer and program events. The program seeks to accommodate clients from a variety of cultural, socioeconomic, and cultural backgrounds, and staff are expected to help clients indiscriminately. As a walk-in crisis center, staff are expected to come to work every day prepared to talk through and empathize with difficult client situations and to handle these interactions respectfully.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Oversee Child Passenger Safety Program including performing car seat installation/education pending CPST training/certification.
Oversee Financial Assistance Program
Manage and develop staff, interns, and volunteers
Assist with Writing and/or overseeing the management of program grants, including maintaining existing grants and increasing new grant sources
Strengthen relationships with other service providers to improve service delivery to The Nest clients.
Create and manage client/donor engagement opportunities to optimize service efficiency and program inventory.
Monitor budget for Family Assistance.
Provide case management services to all clients utilizing the whole organization by intake assessment, short and long-term goal planning, progress monitoring, advocacy, and referrals.
Keep client supplies stocked and maintained based on assigned department budget and donation requests.
Provide all required documentation in a timely manner, which may include client follow-up, outcome evaluation, and client contacts.
Input accurate and complete data for all contacts with clients into the organization database Salesforce.
Participate in regular staff meetings, staff training programs, and supervisory sessions and accept the responsibility for aiding the development of positive team relationships as requested
Participate in The Nest events and activities when requested.
Special requirements:
Must be able to perform physical activities, such as, but not limited to, lifting heavy items (up to 50 lbs. unassisted), bending, standing for long periods of time, climbing, or walking. Must be able to work safely and efficiently in a chaotic environment and be extremely organized and have excellent verbal and written skills. Must be able to work safely in an environment containing biological conditions that may be unhealthy or hazardous (such as bodily fluids, waste, and germs).
