What is Intimate Partner Violence?
Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) is the intentional use of manipulation, physical violence, sexual assault, emotional abuse, financial abuse, and/or any other form of coercion as part of a pattern of behavior to gain control over an intimate partner. IPV affects individuals in every community regardless of age, economic status, sexual orientation, gender, race, religion, or nationality. The devastating physical, emotional, and psychological consequences of IPV can cross generations and last a lifetime while increased safety and autonomy offers healing to survivors.
The Nest provides individual counseling and legal advocacy in all languages for survivors of intimate partner violence. Currently we provide support groups in English and Spanish. We offer support groups in other languages with interpretation services.
